The resulting plant is compact in size, easy to grow, and quick to harvest. In addition, it produces a decent yield that triggers a long-lasting euphoric calm when smoked. More about Blueberry Autoflower Seeds

Back in the 1970s, Daniel “DJ Short” John, also known as the Willy Wonka of Pot, experimented with various landrace marijuana strains because he wanted to develop plants that were easy to cultivate and mature quickly. At the same time, he wanted an end product that was sure to be an enjoyable experience for the user. After numerous tries, he was able to selectively breed a strain that induced a pacifying body high and had the pleasing aroma of blueberries and vanilla. This strain, which he called simply Blueberry, has since won many awards, including Best Indica at the 2000 High Times Cannabis Cup. Even after so many years, it is still firmly entrenched as an all-time favorite among connoisseurs.

Our Blueberry Autoflower can be easily grown either indoors or outdoors. The plant produces bright purple buds with a delicious fruity scent that is lots of fun for growers of all experience levels. It is short and robust – only 30 inches (75 cm) tall – making it the perfect strain for covert cultivation. Because it is not dependent on the seasonal light/dark cycle, you can avoid the stress of fiddling with your grow lights. Just let nature take its course and in about eight weeks, you will be able to harvest this prize-winning crop.

DJ Short, the creator of Blueberry, was also the first to compare the different aromas and flavors of cannabis to those of fine wines. Using the olfactory chart that he inspired, you can describe Blueberry as predominantly sweet. The berry and vanilla scents are at the forefront, but you will also notice the spicy undertone of pine lingering in the air. Furthermore, there is a citrusy element that will make your mouth water and a slight herbal profile that adds complexity.

Blueberry autoflower seeds will produce plants that have simple growing requirements and a rapid growth rate. These two characteristics make them the ideal starting point for novice growers. One of the biggest advantages is hassle-free lighting which means you will not have to change your lights on/lights off schedule. And with a shorter life cycle, you can have multiple harvests all year round. The plants are small and stout, but that does not mean that the buds are of lesser quality. With all these benefits, there is no reason for you to forego the autoflower option.

Nevertheless, you may have encountered some misconceptions about autos, so let us give you the facts. First, cannabis is often divided into three species,
not just two. These are Indica, Sativa, and lesser-known Ruderalis. Growers in the 1970s combined Cannabis ruderalis genes with existing strains because the resulting hybrids could enter the flowering stage earlier and with minimal fuss. Second, the modified plants are hardier and able to withstand colder temperatures since their parents have adapted to the harsh climate of northern Europe and Asia. Finally, although the initial crossbreeds produced scant yields with lower levels of cannabinoids,
constant experimentation has resulted in significantly better outputs these days. In the case of Blueberry Autos, the THC level is an impressive 14% on average.

Blueberry autoflower thrives best indoors and matures fast in only 55 to 65 days. It remains short and compact throughout its life, achieving a maximum height between 23 and 35 inches (60 to 90 cm). It does not require any training or topping, and you can keep your grow lights at a constant 20 hours on, 4 hours off schedule from germination to flowering. In the end, you can expect to harvest about five ounces of usable bud per three square feet of grow space. If you supplement your plant with the right micronutrients and maintain the proper pH level, the yield could even go as high as seven ounces (200 grams).

Outdoors, the yield is a bit less – around three ounces (85 grams) per plant. Still, if you have no choice but to grow out in the open, you can rest assured that the plant’s short stature will hide it from inquisitive neighbors. It will need lots of sunlight, but brief drops in temperature will not have any adverse effects. To maximize your crop, we suggest that you take advantage of its short life span by germinating your next batch of auto seeds at the same time that you are harvesting from the first one. That way, you can have continuous production all year round.

As Blueberry autoflower matures, you will be able to spot purple and red tones on its leaves. This is due to the high concentration of anthocyanins,
a flavonoid that provides color as well as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. The trichomes will be glassy and transparent, enveloping the buds with a sticky and potent resin. Proper drying and curing will intensify the bright purple color and fruity aroma of your buds.

Blueberry is often prescribed for its sedative effects. Due to its dominant Indica genes, you will experience an immediate body high right from the first toke. Your stress and anxiety will melt away, and you will want nothing more than to shut out the world while relaxing in your favorite armchair. Be sure that all your tasks are done for the day, as this strain will prevent you from doing anything that requires mobility. We find that the best time to enjoy it is after dinner because the sweet aroma is reminiscent of a luscious dessert.

On top of that powerful body buzz, you will also feel Blueberry’s Sativa. It will lift your mood and give you the giggles. This makes it especially helpful in treating depression. For insomniacs, it can also cause a deep and restful sleep when used moderately.

The THC level of this strain is a medium to high 14%. As this study from 2019 shows, THC is effective against short-term and chronic pain. Moreover, cancer patients have benefited from its ability to encourage a healthier appetite.

Often described as “one hit and quit”, Blueberry autoflower could cause some dizziness and disorientation if you are not careful. Just remember to take it easy and the discomfort will go away on its own. As for the other side effects, you will most likely experience dry eyes and cotton mouth – the same as any other marijuana strain. These conditions are easily remedied by some lubricating eye drops and a few sips of water.

What are feminized seeds?

If you’re new to growing, you might not be sure what a ‘feminized seed’ is or why it's important. Here’s the deal. Marijuana plants come in both male and female sexes, but only one grows bud for smoking - the female plant.

Using them takes the guesswork out of growing. In the old days, you dealt with this by planting double the plants you thought you needed. Why? Simple
